For their 2010 Design Directory, Wallpaper* magazine selected Carson & Crushell Architects as one of "the world's best new talents". In 2022 and 2019 they received one of the six national awards given by the Architectural Association of Ireland, as well as Special Mentions in 2011 and 2017. In 2022 they were shortlisted in the national SEAI Awards.
Douglas has taught architecture for over 20 years in the UK and Ireland. He is a past President of the Architectural Association of Ireland, initiating the AAI Mentoring Forum, the Maurice Craig Student Award and co-creating the first Describing Architecture exhibition. He currently teaches in the School of Architecture, University College Dublin. Rosaleen has a Masters in Urban and Building Conservation and is a founding member of Built Heritage Collective Ireland. She is a RIBA accredited Conservation Architect and is a member of ICOMOS. She is on the Irish Georgian Society's Traditional Building Skills Register and has full Project Supervisor (Design Process) Accreditation.
